Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes bumps or irritation, often triggered by factors like UV exposure, alcohol, stress, exercise, and spicy food. Caring for rosacea-prone skin involves gentle cleansing, hydration, and strong protection against UV rays to soothe and support the skin barrier.
Here is what I recommend for mild to moderate rosacea:
Cleanse gently: Use our unscented Smoothing Cleanser without the Bamboo Face Cloth or hot water. You can follow with a little splash of cold water on your face to calm the skin.
Hydrate carefully: Apply unscented Morning Mist and the unscented Skin Re-Leaf or Skin Feast moisturiser, which nourishes and soothes sensitive skin without overwhelming it.
Protect daily: Always wear sunscreen to guard against UV rays, which are a major trigger for rosacea flare-ups.
For additional nourishment, especially as your skin improves, you might introduce products from our Tamanu range. Tamanu Cream and Tamanu Balm are known for their antibacterial and reparative properties, ideal for calming flare-ups and supporting skin recovery.
To help reduce visible redness and boost confidence, our Calm & Correct 4-in-1 colour-correcting treatment is a fantastic option. It instantly neutralises redness with natural green pigments, soothes inflammation with clinically backed cica exosomes, and offers broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection. In an independent clinical study, 98% of users saw a reduction in redness and 95% felt more confident about their appearance after 28 days.
Another great product is the Skin Re-Leaf Soothing Moisturiser, a lightweight, ultra-reparative cream enriched with Madagascan leaf of life, tamanu oil, tiger grass, chamomile, and oats. It helps restore the skin barrier, soothe inflammation, and reduce redness, making it perfect for anyone prone to rosacea, dryness, or sensitive skin.
Remember, when caring for rosacea-prone skin, avoid heavy or overly rich products that might irritate. Instead, focus on gentle, hydrating, and protective skincare that supports your skin’s natural resilience.
